On 12 November 2021, Ambassador Ito attended a handover ceremony of “The Project for Equipping Union of the Blind of Republika Srpska with Braille Equipment”, which was held in the premise of Union of the Blind of Republika Srpska’s Braille Resource Center at 15:00.
Alen Seranic, Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska and Ms. Tanja Dakovic, Assistant Minister of Culture in Ministry of Education and Culture attended the ceremony along with Mr. Branko Suzić, President of the Union of the Blind of Republika Srpska.
Under Japan’s “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GAGP)” program, the Government of Japan granted 80,264 EUR (approx. 157,000 BAM) to Union of the Blind of Republika Srpska for procuring 3 Braille printers and 10 Braille displays.
The project will contribute to the improvement of social welfare of blind and partially blind people in RS. This assistance will benefit about 1,950 memebers of the Union including 43 pupils.
