The United Kingdom (UK) Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), H.E. Julian Reilly, and his deputy, James Hamilton Harding, visited the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) of BiH yesterday.

Ambassador Reilly and Deputy Harding were hosted by the members of the HJPC Presidency: President Sanin Bogunic, Vice Presidents Sanela Gorusanovic Butigan and Velimir Ninkovic, and permanent member Sedin Idrizovic.

The central topics of yesterday’s meeting were the Law on Amendments to the Law on the HJPC BiH, which was determined by the Council of Ministers of BiH at the beginning of March this year, support for further reforms of the judicial system in BiH, and cooperation related to the implementation of recommendations from the MONEYVAL Report (Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism) for BiH.

The meeting participants also briefly reflected on the current situation following the adoption of the Law on the HJPC of the Republika Srpska (RS) and other laws by the National Assembly of RS (NARS).

President Bogunic expressed gratitude for the UK’s support to the HJPC BiH and the BiH judiciary in the past period, emphasizing that this support will continue through cooperation in implementing the recommendations from the MONEYVAL Report. He also highlighted the importance of adopting a high-quality Law on the HJPC BiH.

In the context of the current situation, President Bogunic stated that all judicial institutions are operating regularly and are carrying out their tasks professionally and efficiently, Klix.ba writes.
