American and Swedish Government in a Joint Project for Job Creation

jobs-the-thumbA joint project- Improvement of Local Development (GOLD) of the American Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Swedish Agency for International Development and Cooperation (SIDA) will mark the official start of work by the signing of a Memorandum of understanding with six partner municipalities.

The Director of USAID Mission in B&H David Barth, Sida Consultant Pelle Persson and Mayors of Banja Luka, Bihać, Bijeljina, Sarajevo Center, Ljubuški and Tuzla will sign on Tuesday in Sarajevo a Memorandum of understanding.

The main objectives of USAID/Sida project (Gold) is to strongly support local communities in economic development, attracting investments and job creation.

Citizens, the public and private sector, academic community, NGOs and donors will be engaged in this project in achieving these objectives.

USAID/Sida Gold project will develop a model for sustainable local economic development, where partner municipalities will create a model of economic development that would be applicable in the entire country as the basis for sustainable economic growth.
