Due to the sanctions of the United States of America, the highest institutions of Republika Srpska have been virtually paralyzed for days, official websites are mostly unavailable and electronic communication and mail exchange are disabled.
This information was confirmed for Capital.ba by the President of the Government of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković, pointing out that the problems with the internet connection, which made it difficult and impossible to access the official websites of the government, the President of the Republika Srpska and the Inspectorate, were the result of sanctions.
“We were shut out by the Americans. Although we have everything paid until February 2025, we are brutally excluded due to the sanctions imposed by the USA on the President of Republika Srpska,” Višković said.
He added that the government is taking certain steps to overcome this problem.
“Don’t ask me to specify what the steps are, but in the next two or three days everything should work”, said Višković.
Portal Capital wrote about this problem on several occasions, while the RS institutions pretended it didn’t exist and ignored the public’s interest, refusing to say anything publicly.
Interlocutors from the institutions unofficially confirmed that they cannot use official emails, that emails sent to them are returned, and that they are forced to use private email, which is a big security risk and creates the possibility of hacking because official documentation is not intended to be sent that way.
