Amidzic comments Blocking the Account of RTRS, Hasanovic answers him fiercely

The Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Srđan Amidžić, commented on the RTRS morning program about the blocking of that television’s account, claiming that Bosniak politicians are trying to “abolish one thing at a time” within the RS.

Muhamed Hasanović, Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina, responded to his allegations.

“They don’t want RTRS to exist, there can only be BHRT for the reason that it is state television, according to them. They want to have one television, state television, and I, in the evening, when I turn on the daily newspaper, to be able to watch only the BHT daily newspaper. And they work in different ways, including through the judiciary,” Amidžić said, among other things.

Hasanović rejected claims that the blocking of the RTRS account was the result of a political decision from Sarajevo, stressing that the account was blocked based on a court decision.

“The RTRS account was blocked based on a court decision. Not because someone in Sarajevo decided to ‘shut down RTRS,’ but because there is a court proceeding and a decision. These are the facts.

If the Federation owes something to the RS, let it be paid. If the RS or its institutions owe the Federation, let that be paid as well. Very simple,” said Hasanović.

He said that not every court case can be interpreted as a political attack when the decision is not in favor of the RS.

“The rule cannot be: when the RS demands money from the Federation, it is ‘justice’, and when someone demands money from the RS, then it is a ‘political attack’. That is not a principle. That is hypocrisy.

You cannot declare yourself the victim and the institutions the enemy every time you lose a case. This may come across in your political statements. It won’t happen here,” said Hasanović.
