What was the Amount of the Total Foreign Investment in BiH in 2016?

Diaspora Money magazin.baThe amount of foreign investments in BiH in the year of 2016 reached the amount of 460.6 million BAM according to the latest published preliminary data of the Central Bank of BiH, which means that almost 200 million BAM of new foreign investments were realized in the last quarter of 2016.

Although this figure is not final and it will be most likely corrected and thus get foreign investments in BiH closer to around half a billion BAM, this data confirmed the forecasts of FIPA on improvements in the fourth quarter of the last year, as stated from the FIPA.

The FIPA informed that in the first quarter of last year was made a double overthrow of the amount of foreign investment, but then in the second and third quarter, due to the unstable political situation and negative connotations regarding the referendum and mentioning of secession and war had negative impact on potential investors, who asked questions about the political situation and expressed concern for capital that they would eventually invest.

FIPA attempted to keep investors within their abilities, explaining that this is just a temporary situation caused by the election campaign and that that the situation will normalize in October. Thus, the fourth quarter fixed the bad situation from the second and third quarters and increased the amount of foreign investment in the last year by about 200 million BAM, as said in the statement.
