An earthquake measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale hit Bosnia and Herzegovina, the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) confirmed.

According to the first information, the epicenter of the earthquake was nine kilometers northeast of Mostar, and the earthquake was recorded at a depth of ten kilometers.

The earthquake occurred around 19:22 local time.

Although it did not cause major damage, the earthquake was felt in several cities in Herzegovina. EMSC users reported that the earthquake was felt in Široki Brijeg, Posušje, Ljubuško and Čapljina, but also in some parts of Croatia, especially those near the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Although the magnitude of this earthquake is relatively small, it was felt over a wider area, causing short-term unrest among the population.

“Široki Brijeg shook”, “Strong tremor, lasted for at least 15 seconds”, “Short, strong”, “Unpleasant rumble, lasted a few seconds”, are some of the comments.
