An employee of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina (GPBiH) Ensar Salčinović was sentenced to one year in prison for accepting bribes. The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina imposed a fine of 500 BAM on the defendant for conspiracy to commit criminal acts.

Salčinović will be deprived of the property benefit obtained by the commission of the criminal offense in the amount of 500 BAM, which the accused is obliged to pay within 30 days from the date of finality of the verdict.

The accused was sentenced to a security measure prohibiting him from performing any calling, activity or duty for a period of three years from the finality of the verdict, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.

Salčinović was found guilty because from November 2020 to September 2021, as an employee of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he received a monetary gift for himself and other persons known to him, from candidates who applied for a public advertisement for the admission of cadets, in order to make it easier for them admission to the BiH Border Police.
