The trade union consumer basket calculated by the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SSSBiH) for April 2022 amounted to 2.493.84 BAM and is 73.88 BAM more expensive than the trade union consumer basket in March.

The average salary paid in the Federation of BiH (FBiH) for February 2022 was 1.046 BAM (the latest data published by the Federal Bureau of Statistics) and the coverage of the Trade Union Consumer Basket with the average salary is 41.94 percent.

When making the Trade Union Consumer Basket, the average salary paid in the FBiH was taken into account, as well as the minimum living costs of a family of four consisting of two adults and two children, one of who is in high school and the other in primary school.

The consumer basket consists of the following categories: food – 44.43%, housing, and communal services – 14.50%, hygiene, and health maintenance – 9.17%, education and culture – 8.02%, clothing, and footwear – 12.83%, transportation – 5.53% and household maintenance – 5.61%.

According to the Trade Union, prices from three shopping centers for 86 items were used in the food category. When it comes to hygiene and health maintenance, costs for eleven items are included, and costs for housing and utilities for six items.
