Analysis: Real GDP Growth in the Second Quarter of 2018

The real GDP growth by expenditure approach in the second quarter of 2018, compared to the same quarter of the previous year, amounted 3,4%.

According to seasonally adjusted data, GDP increased by 1,2 % in the second quarter of 2018, as compared to the previous quarter.

Observed by category of GDP by expenditure approach, in the second quarter of 2018 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, real growth was recorded in all categories, except for General government consumption expenditure, slight decline 0,4%. For all other categories real growth was recorded: Household final consumption expenditure 3,8 %, Gross capital formation 2,9%, Export of goods and services 4,9% and Import of goods and services 3,2%.

The real GDP growth in the second quarter of 2018, compared to the same quarter of the previous year, amounted 3,4 %.
According to seasonally adjusted data, GDP increased by 1,1% in the second quarter of 2018, as compared to the previous quarter.

Observed by activities, in the second quarter of 2018 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, real growth of the gross value added was recorded in: Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply 16,8% and Wholesale and retail trade 11,7%.

Real fall of the gross value added was recorded in: Other service activities  7,8%.
