Analysis: The Average Salary in BiH in May

The average monthly paid net salary per employee in legal entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina in May was 1,388 BAM and is nominally higher by one percent, and in real terms by 1.2 percent compared to the previous month.

Compared to May of last year, the average paid net salary was nominally higher by 8.9 percent, while the real index was higher by 6.8 percent, the BiH Statistics Agency announced.

In finance and insurance activities, the net salary paid in May amounted to 2,012 BAM, in information and communications 1,965 BAM, and in production and supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning 1,895 BAM.

In providing accommodation, and preparing and serving food, the average net salary paid in the fifth month was 909 BAM, in construction 1,039 BAM, and in wholesale and retail trade, and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles 1,080 BAM.

The average monthly gross salary per employee in legal entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina for May was 2,150 BAM, which shows a nominal growth of 1.2 percent, and in real terms it is higher by 1.4 percent compared to April.

The average monthly gross salary paid for May compared to the same month in 2023 was nominally higher by 9.3 percent, while the real index was higher by 7.2 percent.
