Ancelotti before the Champions League final: This is the most important game of the season for us

Real Madrid football coach Carlo Ancelotti said before the final of the Champions League, in which his team will play against Borussia Dormund, that they are focused and that this is the most important game of the season for his team.

Tonight, Real Madrid will play the final of the Champions League against Borussia at 21:00 in London at Wembley.

The club from Madrid is playing for its 15th European Championship title in its 18th final.

“We had enough time to prepare properly, the team is really focused, concentrated. This is the most important game of the season for us against a rival that we respect immensely. We have already said that Borussia deserves to be here and I believe that everything will go as we planned “, Ancelotti said at the press conference.

“The most important thing for me is to instill in the players’ heads what they should do on the field. I am much less nervous than my team. I am focused on the match. Emotions are there, and everyone, depending on their character, has to manage them. Managing emotions will be very important,” said Ancelotti.

Real is undefeated in the Champions League this season, and managed to turn things around in the games it was losing.

“We have confidence because we proved two important things during the season – we have quality and we sacrifice for the team. We are collective. Sacrifice and quality will be key for the game,” said the Italian coach.

Ancelotti has the opportunity to win the fifth title of the European champion as a coach and the seventh in general, and as the coach of Real he has two titles.

“Our obsession is to give our best, as we have done all season. Sometimes things don’t happen as you would like. Winning the Champions League is very important and I think we can already say that this season has been a success, whatever happens in the match,” Ancelotti stressed.

He confirmed that Belgian Thibaut Courtois, who spent most of the season out of the team due to recovery from a serious injury, will be in goal, but has been back in the competition for the first 11 since the beginning of May.

Ukrainian Andriy Lunin was supposed to be among the posts, but he is under temperature for three days in a row, so he will not be able to help the team in the final.

“Lunin traveled with us, he is here, and he will be on the bench because he had a fever in the last few days. Courtois will be in goal in the final,” Ancelotti said.
