Today, animal lovers and activists from Sarajevo joined thousands of people around the world celebrating the 13th National Animal Rights Day in more than 150 major cities around the world.

In order to show the public all the inhumane treatment of animals by society, in front of the National Theater they arranged a ceremony to honor the billions of them in the world who lose their lives every year in the food, textile, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and other industries.

Legal adviser of the Association for Animal Rights and the Environment “EVA” Tina Balta told Fena news agency that they are trying to draw attention to animal rights and how they are regulated by laws and other legal acts.

“Also, we explain how individuals can help animals or at least not directly violate their rights,” said Balta.

The rally invited all animal rights activists, as well as animal lovers, to join and give their voice to those who don’t have one.
