At the Cabinet of the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Denis Becirovic, the Council for Foreign Policy was formed, with the aim of considering certain foreign policy issues within the jurisdiction of the Presidency of BiH.

It is important to mention that the council considers current issues in the field of foreign policy, on which it gives suggestions and recommendations that the member of the Presidency of BiH Denis Becirovic can take into account when making decisions in the function of exercising the rights and duties of the member of the Presidency of BiH.

The work of the members and the performance of the functions of the Council for Foreign Policy is based on a pro bono basis.

The constituent session was attended by respected academics, ambassadors and diplomats, university professors, and journalists, who expressed their readiness to contribute with their knowledge, experience, and practical activities to the consideration of the most important issues related to the further democratic development of BiH, the processes of European and Euro-Atlantic integration and the positioning of BiH as an active and constructive actor on the international stage.

At the first session, the Council discussed initiatives and activities aimed at strengthening regional cooperation. Strengthening cooperation and good neighborly relations is one of the basic principles of the Stabilization and Association Process and as such constitutes a key factor in the development of overall relations and cooperation between BiH and the European Union (EU), and the further process of integration of BiH into the membership of the EU.

Bearing in mind the importance of accelerated integration of BiH into the membership of the EU, the Council emphasized that BiH should continue to support constructive and credible initiatives and activities aimed at strengthening regional cooperation and at the same time fully compatible with the process of European integration, Klix.ba reports.
