Leading world news agencies have expressed concern for the safety of their journalists in Gaza and called on Israel to ensure their safe entry into and exit from the Palestinian enclave.
In a joint statement published on social media, the media outlets stated:
“We are desperately concerned for our journalists in Gaza, who increasingly are unable to feed themselves and their families. For months, these independent journalists have been the eyes and ears of the world on the ground in Gaza. Now they are facing the same dire circumstances as those they are reporting on.”
The agencies also state that they are “deeply disturbed” by the threat of starvation facing the journalists.
“Once again, we call on Israeli authorities to allow journalists to enter and exit Gaza. It is essential that adequate food supplies reach the people there,” the world news agencies stated.
