armed forcesThe Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted a decision on the participation of 45 members of the Armed Forces of BiH infantry unit in peace support operations in Afghanistan.

As Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mladen Ivanić told reporters after the session, it is expected that the unit is deployed to Afghanistan by the end of the year.

The Presidency adopted the decision on participation of a group of officers of the Armed Forces in support of peace mission in Afghanistan and adopted a report on the participation of members of the Armed Forces, police officers, civil servants and other employees in peace support operations for the period 1 January to 30 June 2014.

The Presidency also approved the report of BiH Ambassador to Libya on the political and security situation in the country and decided that the conditions have been met to return ambassador to Libya and to continue the work of the BiH Embassy in Tripoli.

“The BiH Ambassador in Libya is entitled in the event of any changes in security situation in Tripoli to relocate the headquarters of the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina at his own discretion to another location,” explained Ivanić.

The Presidency approved the loan agreement (the project of water supply for Gradačac) between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the guarantees agreement (relating to the loan agreement for the project of central heating system in Prijedor) between BiH and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
