The Council of Ministers of BiH yesterday discussed the proposals on legislation on deposit insurance and work in state institutions, which, as Chairman Denis Zvizdic said, should be adopted in the next session and referred to the parliamentary procedure after the ministries and the Office of Legislative give their opinions.

When it comes to amendments to the Law on Excises, he said that the text proposed by the Board of Directors of Indirect Taxation Authority was the same as the one previously found in the parliamentary procedure.

“We must ensure with this text that all the money raised is directed at building highways and roads and that it does not go to budgets, and we will have to explain to parliamentarians how exactly that money will be spent,” said Chairman Zvizdic.

While commenting on the session of the Council of Ministers, he also noted that about 400 million KM of foreign investments was invested in BiH in the first five months of this year, which represents an increase of 66 % in relation to the same period of the previous year.

He also commented the construction of the Sarajevo-Belgrade highway and recalled that Turkish partners in this project are demanding that BiH and Serbia come out with a unique route proposal.

He announced that the Minister of Transport and Communications of BiH Ismir Jusko will organize a meeting with entity ministries, where they will try to agree on a single route through BiH.

Also, the Council of Ministers of BiH discussed the responses to the Questionnaire of European Commission, and Chairman Zvizdic stated that almost 50 % of the answers are prepared, which the translation team will start translating in a few days.

He stated that the answers to the 17 chapters in the Questionnaire were defined, which is between 6,000 and 7,000 responses. He also added that more than 95 % of responses were harmonized and that about 50 % of them were verified.
