Around 700,000 People decide to come to B&H

tourists (1)Tourists achieved 696,345 visits in the period from January to August 2015, which is by 26.7 percent more compared with the same period in 2014, and 1,485,340 overnight stays, which is by 30.8 percent more in comparison to the same period in 2014.

Number of overnight stays of domestic tourists is higher by 119.4 percent, while the number of overnight stays of foreign tourists is by 37.1 percent higher compared with the same period in 2014.

According to the data of the Agency for Statistics of B&H, the share of domestic tourists in the total achieved number of overnight stays amounted to 32.2 percent and the share of foreign tourists to 67.8 percent.

According to the type of accommodation facility, the largest number of overnight stays were achieved within the category ‘hotels and similar accommodation’ with a share of 92.9 percent.

In the structure of overnight stays of foreign tourists, the most overnight stays were achieved by tourists from Croatia (12.4), Serbia (9.8), Italy (9.4), Turkey (8.4), Slovenia (5.9), Poland (5.6), and France (3.6), which is 55.1 percent in total.

Tourists from other countries achieved 44.9 percent of overnight stays. Regarding the length of stay of foreign tourists in B&H, leading are the tourists from Malta with an average stay of nights, followed by South Africa (4.1 nights), France and Kuwait (3.3 nights) and Latvia (3.1 nights).
