Around One Million Tourists visited B&H in 11 Months?

touristsIn the period from January to November 2015, tourists recorded 966,870 visits in B&H, which is more by 22.3 % and 2,029,110 overnight stays, which is more by 26.0 % compared to the same period in 2014.

Number of overnight stays of domestic tourists was increased by 15.9 %, while the number of overnight stays of foreign tourists was increased by 31.6 % in comparison to the same period in 2014.

Participation of domestic tourists in the total number of overnight stays is 32.7 % and 67.3 % of foreign tourists, according to the data of the Agency for Statistics of B&H.

According to the type of accommodation facilities, the highest number of overnight stays was realized through hotels and similar accommodation objects, with a share of 93.1 %.

In the structure of overnight stays of foreign tourists, most of the stays in the first 11 months in 2015 were realized by tourists from Croatia (12.8), Serbia (9.4), Italy (8.7), Turkey (8.6), Slovenia (5.9) and Poland (5.2) which makes a total of 50.6 %. Tourists from other countries realized 49.4 % of stays.

When it comes to the length of stay of foreign tourists in B&H, tourists from Malta are on the first place with an average stay of 5.8 nights. They are followed by tourists from South Africa with 4.2 nights, Kuwait with 3.3 nights, France with 3.1 nights and Latvia with 3.0 nights.
