Arrival of the German Foreign Minister in Sarajevo

Frank-Walter_Steinmeier_04German Foreign Minister Frank – Walter Steinmeier is planning to visit Sarajevo on 26th and 27th May. In Sarajevo, he will lead a series of political talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, but also with the Chairman of the Council of Ministers and members of Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The focus of the discussions will be the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the entire region, but the emphasis will also be put on the disaster flooded areas in the country.

Foreign Minister Steinmeier is deeply concerned about the disasters caused by floods in the Balkans and he adds that he situation of the people in flooded areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as Serbia is still dramatic.

Germany strives to show solidarity with people in flooded areas. Also, it supports the tireless actions by personnel which aim to help in humanitarian aid. In addition, the German Organization for Technical Support ( THW ) strives to collect and deliver humanitarian aid.

Humanitarian emergency aid from Germany in meanwhile increased to 1 million Euros.
