sarajevo artistIn the Sarajevo street Radiceva, in the center of the city and near the Sarajevo cafe gallery Boris Smoje, and within the Festival of Street Art, an interesting art performance is taking place.

Numerous artists from Sarajevo participate in the first Festival of Street Art and will, in the next few days, with their art and interesting ideas make our city more beautiful and give a new dimension to parks, streets, settlements and promenades.

One of them is Sarajevo artist Zoran Herceg, who decided to paint four persons Facebook proposed him as “persons he may know“ on the wall of the building in Radiceva street. It is about an option this social network is using to connect people, proposing all users profiled of people whom they have something mutual with-friends, interests etc.

“I wanted to surprise people, to put them on a public wall, without them knowing why they are there. Those are all people I may know, we have something mutual, since Facebook recognized us, we do not know each other, but it does not mean that they will not meet, thus this can be a way to expand the friend circle“, said Herceg.

Facebook generally suggested him artists, thus those are people who, looking at his work, already recognized “Emir“, who is also an artist.

Herceg stated that, within this project, he will paint a total of four portraits, and added that all Facebook users agreed that their photos are in a property of this social network, thus he does not do anything wrong.

Zoran Herceg is a visual artist from Sarajevo. He graduated at the Academy of fine arts Brera, in Milano, at the painting department. He worked as an art director in one marketing agency, as well as a cartoonist for several Italian publishers.

His first individual exhibition was organized in 2011 in the club-gallery “Zvono“ in Sarajevo. He participated at several group exhibitions in Sweden, Italy and B&H. He was the finalist of the Italian award Arte for young artists in 2013.
