Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs James C. O’Brien will travel to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, February 1-3, 2024.

His visit will emphasize the strong partnership between the United States and Bosnia and Herzegovina and reaffirm the United States’ support for the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and multiethnic character.

While in Sarajevo, Assistant Secretary O’Brien will meet with senior government officials to underscore that functional, efficient, and accountable democratic institutions at all levels of government are essential to a better future for all citizens, in both the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska.
