In the past period, Association for protection of cultural heritage Isa-bey Ishaković and the jemaat of the Emperor Sultan Fatih’s mosque successfully completed campaign of collecting aid in the form of school supplies for the needs of students of the Educational Center in Nova Kasaba near Konjević Polje, in the Municipality of Bratunac.

Encouraged by the situation that 120 Bosniak students are facing regarding the violation of basic human rights in terms of the deprivation of their right to study national group of subjects, to study Bosnian language, and encouraged by the selfless endeavors of their parents in the persistent fight for the rights of their children and children of future generations, the Association opted for the campaign of collecting school supplies as a form of support to the persistency of the young students and their parents in the Bratunac Municipality.

Association’s aim was to provide 120 backpacks with necessary supplies for the academic year 2016/2017 and thus make the beginning of academic year more pleasant for these children. Thanks to the members of the Association, to members of the jemaat and certain organizations from the Sarajevo Canton, the Association managed to raise funds in the amount of 7.000 BAM.

It is needless to discuss all the issues that small heroes in this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina are fighting against. However, while spending time with these kids, participants in this project saw for themselves how these children are full of strength, will and desire to make it. Hopefully, the broad public and fellow citizens will provide maximum support in their further endeavors.

This is not the first campaign implemented by this Association. Namely, the Association also organized a similar action for students of the local school Vrbanjci near Kotor Varoš, who are experiencing the same issues.

On this occasion, members of the Association invite the authorities in BiH to pay attention to the problem of education of children in the smaller BiH entity and to do whatever they can to solve it.
