Associations of Victims of Genocide filed Reports against the RTRS to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and RAK

The Association of Genocide Victims and Witnesses and the Association “Movement of Mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves” today submitted formal reports to the Regulatory Agency for Communications of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina against RTV Republika Srpska (RTRS), because of the way this public service reported on the death, commemoration and burial of Ratko Mladić, who was legally convicted of genocide in Srebrenica.

In the reports, along with specific examples, it is indicated that the RTRS systematically omitted the final verdict for genocide, used affirmative terminology about Mladić, and without editorial fencing transmitted statements that relativized the genocide in Srebrenica.

The application sent to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH particularly points to the earlier position of the RAK from May 2026, by which this agency declared itself incompetent for the issue of glorifying convicted war criminals – the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide and the Association “Movement of the Mother of the Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves” announced.
