Eight people died in a fire in a multi-story office building in the town of Fryazin near Moscow, a spokesman for the local emergency services said.

“Two people died after jumping out of the window. Six people remained in the building, where the internal structures collapsed. According to preliminary data, they died,” said the spokesman.

He added that nine people were in the premises where the fire broke out and that only one of them was saved.

The fire broke out in the afternoon and engulfed the building from the fifth to the eighth floor.

More than 100 firefighters with 40 pieces of equipment, including “Ka-32” helicopters, were engaged in extinguishing the fire.
