Surrounded by fjords and mountains, Tromso, Norway, is the northernmost city in the world, located 350 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle.

Known as the capital of the Arctic, this city is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, fjords and green islands and is an ideal base for viewing the aurora borealis.

Some of Norway’s most spectacular landscapes are found in this geographical expanse.

With a population of 76,974 inhabitants, Tromsø is the 12th most populous municipality in Norway, AA writes.
