Australian billionaire Andrew Forrest has announced an additional donation of 10 million dollars through his Minderoo Foundation to support urgent humanitarian relief efforts in the Gaza Strip.

With this move, Forrest and his wife Nicola Forrest have increased their foundation’s total contribution to nearly 28 million dollars, focusing on partners delivering critical meals to those facing hunger in Gaza.

Of the new funds, 5 million dollars will go to World Central Kitchen to finance over 1.5 million meals in Gaza. Another 5 million dollars will be allocated to the United Nations (UN) World Food Programme (WFP), which is also providing food aid in the region.

“Minderoo Foundation will not sit idly by while children are starving,” Forrest stated, calling for a greater response from philanthropists and the private sector to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
