The police are conducting an on-site investigation and, upon the prosecutor’s order, are determining the circumstances under which a police officer was wounded in Teočak and the attacker attempted suicide, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Tuzla Canton announced.

The statement states that last night at 9:45 p.m., domestic violence was reported to the police in the town of Stari Teočak, in the house of a man whose initials are N.B.

“After the report, police officers intervened at the scene, and on that occasion, the man N.B. used a firearm to injure police officer Z.A,” the statement added.

The man N.B., as stated, continued to shoot at the Rapid Intervention Team of the Special Support Unit of the Cantonal Police Administration, and was then arrested by the police and transported to the University Clinical Center /UKC/ in Tuzla, where he is being treated for an injury that, according to initial information, he inflicted on himself with a firearm.

“The family members were adequately cared for in cooperation with the Kalesija Social Work Center. The injured police officer was kept for further treatment at the Tuzla Community Center,” the statement added.
