autocesteAutoceste FB&H announces construction of 102 kilometer highway on Corridor 5C during 2014.

The biggest challenge will be the construction of highway to connect B&H economic center of Mostar, Sarajevo, Bihać and Tuzla. The completion of the construction Butile-Vlakovo is foreseen until the middle of this year, and that will connect Tarčin with Zenica.

“All the activities that we will undertake in 2014 are directed towards the faster implementation of the most important state projects, those are investments for the future and not short term results. Highways are the engine of B&H development”, said the director of Autoceste FB&H Ensad Karić.

8 construction spots are active on Corridor 5C: Vlakovo – Tarčin, Zvirovići – Kravice, Svilaj – Odžak, Bilješevo – Drivuša and LOT 3 A.

“During last year there were 472 million investments. We have provided working places for nearly 5.000 employees from 90 domestic companies”, said Karić.

The total value of all construction is 1.2 billion BAM.

He said that 102 kilometer highways are planned to be completed during 2014, meaning 35 % of the Corridor 5C.
