Terrorist attack in Paris will certainly have much broader consequences when it comes to the state of security in Europe, refugees, but also B&H. Professor Esad Bajral considers that the future will show all consequences but that the fanaticism which currently rules is difficult to control.
Professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo and the politics analyst Esad Bajtal commented on the terrorist attack which occurred in Paris. Fact of special interest was how was it possible that the French security services did not prevent preparations for the attack, primarily because it is a world capital and an attack which occurred in the heart of the city.
“You cannot prevent someone who decided to sacrifice life from doing it. Security services are of no help in that case. There are limits of their action, and everything else is beyond their abilities. What is clear is that fanaticism rules and it is very difficult to control it. Basically, you cannot tactically prevent someone who is ready for personal sacrifice”, Bajtal said.
Professor Bajtal highlighted that regardless of who did this, in the name of whom or what, and what the motives are, this terrorist attack is unacceptable and tragic.
“This event in Paris cannot go by without some larger and broader implications. For now, it is difficult to predict how this all will reflect on the refugee crisis, closing of the borders, and eventually on our country as well. This will certainly reflect on B&H in a way, but how, in which way or to which extent – we will see in the future”, Bajtal concluded.
