Bakir Izetbegovic met with the President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas

The Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Bakir Izetbegovic, met with Mahmoud Abbas within his official visit to the State of Palestine.

Chairman Izetbegovic and President Abbas confirmed friendly and bilateral relations between BiH and the State of Palestine. They also exchanged their opinions on the current situation in the two countries, as well as the situation in our region and the region of Middle East.

Chairman Izetbegovic noted that BiH followed the recent tragic events in Gaza with great concern, and that the Presidency of BiH urged the immediate suspension of violence and restoration of dialogue.

Chairman Izetbegovic recalled that BiH supported the resolution of UN General Assembly, which is calling for the protection of civilians of Palestine.

He noted that BiH supports organization of a peace conference that will bring long-term solution to the conflict, based on the principles of international law and with the aim of establishing two independent states.

Izetbegovic once again called for respect to UN resolutions, stopping of every kind of violence and construction in the occupied territories of Palestine, with the aim to create conditions for restoration of peace negotiations and resolving long crisis.

The delegation of BiH also included Igor Crnadak, Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Zoran Djeric, Advisor to the member of the Presidency of BiH Mladen Ivanic, and Igor Planinic, Advisor to the member of the Presidency of BiH Dragan Covic.
