The Association for the Preservation of the Guaranteed Tradition of Banja Luka ćevap specialties was granted a decision confirming that Banja Luka ćevap has become a trademark.

In practice, this means that every producer who decides to call Banja Luka cevap their product will have to comply with the prescribed procedure, the production process, and, above all, the recipe for its preparation.

This is a big step forward for manufacturers, but also for the tourism offer of the city of Banja Luka.

This specifically means that each individual producer of products with the name Banja Luka cevap, that is, the user of the label, as well as each participant in the chain of production, processing and distribution, will carry out the procedure of confirming compliance with the product specification at the authorized body for assessing compliance.

Namely, at the beginning of the year, the aforementioned association submitted a request for a guaranteed traditional specialty for the food product “Banja Luka cevap”.

The Committee for the Registration of Marks of Origin considered the request and assessed that it was founded, and there were no appeals.
