Бањалука - такси за лица са инвалидAs of yesterday, citizens of Banja Luka with disabilities will be able to use the taxi transportation that will be subsidized by the City Administration with 50.000 BAM annually.

Disabled persons will pay 0.30 BAM for the start of the ride. One kilometer of taxi ride will cost 0.40 BAM, and the other costs of transportation will be subsidized by the City. The transportation will be conducted from 6 am to 12 am and from 3 pm to 7 pm. Disabled persons can call the taxi on the number 066/222-995.

Đorđe Mijatović, member of the Association of People suffering from Muscular Dystrophy in the Banja Luka region, said that the introduction of this taxi will facilitate the everyday life to the disabled persons because they will be able to go shopping, go to the hospital, cinema, or wherever they need.

Owner of Žak tours, Žarko Đaković, said that the taxi will be on time and excellent and that it remains to be seen how much demand there will be for such kind of transportation.

“I think the taxi is very affordable. The City pays 2.70 for the start of the ride and 1.80 BAM for one kilometer,” said Đaković.

Mayor of Banja Luka Slobodan Gavranović said that it will be decided whether the taxi will be available during holidays as well.
