At the intersection in Bratunac, not far from the Srebrenica Memorial Center, (another) offensive banner was placed yesterday.
As reported by Istraga.ba, a billboard with a birthday greeting to convicted war criminal Ratko Mladic was placed on it.
On the banner, along with the picture of the criminal, it is also written:
“Happy birthday, long and healthy life”.
It is important to note that this same banner was placed in this place in March 2021, which caused numerous domestic and international reactions.
Final judgment in The Hague
To recall, on June 8th, Ratko Mladic was sentenced before the court in The Hague to life imprisonment for genocide and crimes against humanity against non-Serbs during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
The Appeals Chamber rejected all appeals by Mladic‘s defense and the Prosecutor’s Office, Radio Sarajevo reports.
