The Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team secured a major win against Italy in Zenica and qualified for their second World Cup appearance.

Head coach Sergej Barbarez has led the team for over two years, and this success against one of the greatest national teams further confirms their progress.

“I am proud of my team and everything they showed against Italy. These matches always carry special significance. I do not think Italy underestimated us, as that rarely happens at this level. They are serious and experienced team. We knew we had to be brave, fully focused, and disciplined, and our players showed that on the pitch,” Barbarez told Tutto Mercato Web.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina coach also commented on the remarks of Italian coach Gennaro Gattuso.

“I appreciate the respect from colleagues such as Gattuso, and I am grateful for that. Still, I must say we were completely focused on preparing for the match against Italy to be as prepared as possible,” Barbarez added.
