BBC is working on a Documentary about the Heroes during the War in BiH

12834598_1739096132993730_976021062_nBBC Radio should broadcast the first part of a documentary about the war in BiH soon.

It is is focused on the British heroes who risked their lives to save Bosnian refugees.

These are three British from Wincanton: Malcolm McCormack, priest John McGowan and Dr. Bob Jones.

They started collecting aid for civilian populations in their local community at the beginning of the war in BiH in 1992, and later they went to help people in BiH.

“They were desperate because of the situation in BiH and wanted to do everything to help. They started collecting money in the local post office and they quickly collected 10,000 GBP,” said McCormack’s son Nigel.

Ten more British came with them later to BiH. They helped refugees together, and they transported numerous BiH families by buses through Europe, and moved them to safe places. Some of the families still live in the UK.

“Some of these refugees finished college. Most of them are now working in the UK,” said Nigel McCormack.

His father died in January this year, and Nigel says that people will always remember him for his good deeds.
