mostar_dped7.T560Mostar is in many ways unique and unforgettable city, a historic center of the old bridge that in 2005 was included in the World’s Heritage List of UNESCO.

The famous Karađozbeg mosque along with Franciscan Church and religious monuments of other faiths, in hundreds of streets and roads carry out history, such as Bišćević alley, the street with famous Turkish house, historically significant neighborhood Brankovac, houses and gardens of the oldest Mostar families built in the Ottoman style attract large numbers of tourists from all over the world.

The couple from Italy, Maria Paula and Mike who admired the beauty of Mostar said that they have traveled all over Europe and China and it is not clear how they have not previously visited Mostar.

“We have heard many stories of Mostar, about good people who live here. We have heard that they are very good hosts and good cooks. We had to check for ourselves”, they said to the reporter of Fena.

Sulejman Ferhatović before the war moved to France, but he is from Tuzla.

“Although I was born in Tuzla, I have never been in Mostar. All I know about this city is that is a meeting place of Eastern Islam and Western Christian culture and that I got to know from the books”, said Ferhatović.

Mostar is often visited by tourists from Italy, Germany and Slovenia.

From the tourist agency of the Mostar City say that the number of tourists before and after the season has increased with 10 percent compared to the last year, which means that the season has extended in Mostar.

They add that is the same number of tourists who visits Mostar on one day, and those who stay seven days.

“We are pleased with this year’s season, but we think that it is necessary to expand the tourist offer of Mostar”, he explained.

Just 12 km from Mostar, on the River Buna is a magical town Blagaj, a medieval town of the Hum State from which in the middle of 15th centuries became Herzegovina.

In Blagaj approximately arrive about 2.000 visitors a day. The popular parts of the old town Blagaj are dervish houses – Tekije, the source of the River Buna, the Old Town Herceg Stjepan Kosača and Velagićevina.

From the tourists office Blagaj is expected that this season to be more successful than last year.

On the way to the sea or on return from the Adriatic, it is worth to stop in Mostar, Blagaj, Konjic. Rest and enjoy the beauty of Herzegovina of white stones and green Neretva and Buna.
