Near the Church of the Nativity, built on the cave where Jesus Christ is believed to have been born in Bethlehem in the West Bank, barbed wire and debris symbolizing the destruction in Gaza has been placed.
All Christmas celebrations are limited due to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Due to the Israeli attacks on Gaza, the streets of the city and the Christmas tree in front of the church were not decorated and illuminated for Christmas this year as in previous years.
While the courtyard of the Church of the Nativity of Christ is filled with visitors every year, this year it is almost empty.
