The Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, spoke with the representatives of the World Union of the Diaspora of Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of activities aimed at connecting the BiH diaspora with the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting was attended by SSD BiH President Hasan Šehović, SSD BiH Vice President Haris Halilović, SSD BiH Supervisory Board President (Sweden) Meho Kapo, SSD BiH Youth Representative Amir Grabić, SSD BiH Main Board Member (Turkey) Ismet Çalışkan, Main Board Member and Representative wife SSD BiH (Denmark) Željka Šećerbegović.

Representatives of the World Alliance of the Diaspora of Bosnia and Herzegovina thanked Bećirović for his great support to the Bosnian diaspora, as well as for the activities aimed at connecting the homeland and the diaspora, the BiH Presidency announced.

They discussed the activities and goals of the XII Congress of the World Federation of the Diaspora of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is being held in Sarajevo from July 4 to 7, 2024, under the high patronage of Chairman Bećirović. The interlocutors pointed out the importance of holding the Congress, which gathered around 150 delegates from more than 20 countries, where the organized diaspora of Bosnia and Herzegovina lives and works.

During the meeting, it was pointed out that the Bosnian diaspora plays a major role in the affirmation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the protection of its interests abroad.

Bećirović pointed out that a well-organized diaspora is extremely important for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that is why institutional connection and joint work on projects of interest to our country are important. He said that continuous networking of the Bosnian diaspora and stronger connection with the homeland will contribute to the positive development of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In mid-December 2023, under the Bećirović Cabinet, the Global Network of the Bosnian Diaspora was officially launched with the aim of better connecting citizens in the diaspora with their homeland. The members of that network, in different ways, have already made a significant contribution to the promotion of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the world, Bećirović pointed out in a conversation with representatives of the World Diaspora Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, his office announced.
