Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović spoke with the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to BiH Georg Diwald about the current situation in BiH and the region, as well as the strengthening of bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Austria.

Bećirović thanked the Republic of Austria for its overall support and assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina on a bilateral and multilateral level.

He emphasized the consistent and strong support of the Republic of Austria for the European and Euro-Atlantic path of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He particularly pointed out Austria’s principled stance and readiness to clearly react to anti-Dayton activities in BiH, which was confirmed by the introduction of sanctions against politicians who undermine the constitutional order and the Dayton Peace Agreement.

He also emphasized the important role of Austria in preserving the internal stability and security of BiH, through the participation of its contingent in the EUFOR – ALTHEA Mission.

Ambassador Diwald said that Austria continues to support the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as strengthen economic ties between the countries.

He emphasized that preserving the institutional stability of BiH is important for peace and the European and Euro-Atlantic future of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The interlocutors concluded that bilateral relations are good and extremely friendly, and that it is important to continue to deepen ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Austria.

It was emphasized that friendly relations are accompanied by particularly well-developed cooperation in the economic field, given that the Republic of Austria is also the largest investor in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
