The member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Denis Becirovic, spoke with the representative of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Sweden, Denis Begic.
Becirovic praised the significance and role of Denis Begic in the political and public life of Sweden, especially in terms of emphasizing the European perspective of BiH.
He emphasized that the Kingdom of Sweden expressed strong support for BiH during its presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU) in the first half of this year.
Denis Begic introduced Becirovic to the previous activities in Sweden and the achieved results aimed at supporting the progress of BiH and strengthening relations between the two countries on the political, economic, and cultural levels.
Furthermore, Denis Begic, one of the leading people of the Swedish SDP, a native of Gradiska, said that he will continue to represent the strong voice of BiH in Sweden with the aim of strengthening the support of the Kingdom of Sweden to BiH on its way to full membership in the EU and NATO.
He emphasized that he will use every opportunity to put the issue of the Western Balkans on the agenda in the committee of the Swedish Parliament for the EU.
Moreover, he recalled that Sweden regularly adopts a strategy for cooperation with the Western Balkans and that the main goal of Sweden’s support is to improve the living conditions of citizens and people in BiH, and that special emphasis is placed on bringing BiH closer to the EU.
Becirovic emphasized, among other things, the importance of working to strengthen the ties between the diaspora and the homeland of BiH.
It was established that cooperation with the diaspora and the protection of the interests of the citizens of BiH, who reside in Sweden in large numbers, on various grounds, occupy a special place in the framework of the improvement of BiH’s relations with the Kingdom of Sweden, announced the BiH Presidency.
