The conclusions of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, regarding the consideration of the legally unfounded “Information on the collapse of the legal system in Bosnia and Herzegovina in violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement”, represent a new dangerous attempt to overthrow the Dayton Peace Agreement and destroy the legal order of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said today Denis Bećirović, a member of the Presidency of BiH.
“The conclusions follow the anti-Dayton Declaration of the so-called All-Serbian Assembly, from June this year, and represent a continuation of a policy whose ultimate goal is the disintegration of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the realization of the criminal project of a Greater Serbia”, he said.
“Europe and the world must not forget that the attempt to create a Greater Serbia during the 1990s led to brutal aggression against the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and genocide against Bosniaks. Therefore, it is a common obligation to prevent the repetition of the same dark scenario.”
The OHR, the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council and the states witnessing the Dayton Peace Agreement, as well as NATO and EUFOR, are obliged to act concretely with the aim of preserving peace and stability, Bećirović emphasized.
“It is also necessary for the competent institutions of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina to act efficiently and lawfully. Sovereignty is mentioned nine times in the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina. All nine mentions refer to the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Not once to the entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
Finally, he concluded that the conclusions of the entity assembly on the sovereignty of administrative-territorial units in the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina are mere nonsense.
“There is no entity sovereignty and such an unfounded thesis has no legal basis in the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, nor in international law. We will defend the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina with all available legal, political, diplomatic and other legal means, in accordance with national and international law. Those who thought it was possible to build a state in the internationally recognized state of Bosnia and Herzegovina ended up as war criminals, with life sentences in prison.”
