The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina(BiH), Denis Becirovic, spoke with Kada Hotic, representative of the Association “Movement of Mothers of the Srebrenica and Zepa Enclaves” and Murat Tahirovic, president of the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide, about the preparations for the organization of the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica.

At the meeting, it was jointly concluded to once again invite the High Representative of the international community in BiH, Christian Schmidt, to, in accordance with his powers and obligations, stop the glorification of convicted war criminals inthe textbooks in the BiH entity of Republika Srpska (RS).

“The Dayton role of the High Representative is not to express concern, but to act urgently, with the aim of protecting the Dayton Peace Agreement. That is why, once again, we call on the High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt, to make a decision on the dismissal of Minister Zeljka Stojicic without delay, as well as to make an order banning the use of new teaching programs in the 2024/2025 school year. The High Representative must act concretely and in principle on the entire state territory of BiH“, it was stated.

Kada Hotic and Murat Tahirovic once again thanked Becirovic and his team for their dedicated struggle in preparing the adoption of the Resolution before the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.

They emphasized the particularly important fact that, thanks to that resolution, future generations will mark July 11th as the International Day of Reflection and Commemoration of the Genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica, announced the Presidency of BiH.
