The meeting was also attended by the head of the Islamic community in BiH Husein Kavazovic.

Minister of Waqf and Islamic Affairs of the State of Qatar Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanim thanked Bećirović for the reception and emphasized the importance of strengthening economic cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Qatar.

Bećirović said that political relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the State of Qatar are very good and friendly, but that it is necessary to further improve economic relations, considering the many opportunities in the area of commodity exchange.

A member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina welcomed the decision of Qatar, which at the end of 2019 liberalized the visa regime for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e. made it possible to obtain a free visa at the airport upon entering the country.

Al Ghanim informed the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina about his visit to several cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he will learn about the implementation of projects in various areas financed by the Qatari government. He said that Qatar is currently implementing valuable projects in several cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the conversation, it was pointed out that this year marks three decades since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the State of Qatar, as well as that within the long-term cooperation between the two countries, Qatar has provided support to Bosnia and Herzegovina in various fields both bilaterally and within the framework of the Organization of the Islamic Conference.

During the conversation, interest was expressed in intensifying cooperation in the field of dedicated industry, as well as culture and sports. The importance of strengthening the cooperation between the Olympic committees of the two countries was particularly emphasized.

Bećirović and Al Ghanim said that the good bilateral cooperation that has been present continuously for thirty years will be further strengthened. Among other things, the interlocutors stated that so far a large number of visits have been made at the highest and highest level, and that such practice should be continued in the coming period, Anadolu Agency reports.
