The Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, spoke in Istanbul with the representatives of the Bosnian diaspora in the Republic of Turkey about the intensification of business connections with the homeland of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the possibilities of cooperation on the preservation of tradition and culture.

Representatives of the BiH diaspora thanked Bećirović for strengthening the ties between Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina and emphasized that this is the first organized meeting between the chairman of the BiH Presidency and the BiH diaspora in the Republic of Turkey. They expressed their desire to organize new meetings in the near future, thematically dedicated to economy, culture and tradition.

During the conversation, the hosts informed Bećirović that the Republic of Turkey is home to several million citizens whose origins are from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Their ties with the homeland of their ancestors intensified after the independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

They emphasized that the citizens of the Republic of Turkey, who originate from Bosnia and Herzegovina, have for centuries played an important role in Turkish society, in which they are fully integrated and which enabled them to preserve the Bosnian language and tradition until today.

Bećirović pointed out that the emigrant community in the Republic of Turkey has significantly contributed to the strong friendly relations between the two countries. He added that relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Turkey are on the rise, which will contribute to a more significant connection with individuals, groups and associations that inherit the culture and tradition of Bosniaks, that is, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the authorities of the Republic of Turkey, wants to support the organized efforts of associations to preserve the Bosnian language, traditions and culture of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Republic of Turkey and wants to take concrete steps in that field, Bećirović stressed.

Bećirović said that business initiatives from the Republic of Turkey to start investments in our country, which are led by citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, are getting stronger. He pointed out that, on the other hand, a significant number of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina invest in real estate in the Republic of Turkey, which further strengthens the ties between the two countries.

Finally, Bećirović invited the Bosnian diaspora in the Republic of Turkey to visit and strengthen ties with the homeland of their ancestors, Klix.ba writes.
