A cat named Rosi, believed to be the oldest in the world, died at the age of 33.

Rosi was born in 1991, and was the unofficial holder of the title of “world’s oldest cat”, which has now been taken over by a 28-year-old cat named Flossie from Kent, born in 1995.

Rosi turned 33 on June 1 this year and died at the age of 152 in human years, the New York Times writes.

Lila, who adopted Rosi when she was very young, said she misses her a lot.

“She was not well and one day she just walked into the hallway of the house, laid down and died. However, there were many good memories and I am happy that we spent time together,” she pointed out.

Rosi liked to eat and sleep and passers-by could often see her sleeping in the window of Lila’s home.
