asmirbegovicNo one was happier today than the children from the ”Institute for Special Education and Care of Children Mjedenica”. Representative of the National football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Asmir Begović, came to see the progress of construction of the sports playground funded by his foundation, and played football with the children who were delighted.

“This is the first project of the Foundation. When I met the children, I liked them a lot and I knew that I have to do something for them. Then the foundation was opened and I knew what to do. I’m glad that I visited the children and saw how far the project have progressed. I wish that, after this, we continue with other projects”, said Begović at a press conference held at this Institute.

After this, there will be other projects across the country, and the Foundation Asmir Begović will go where needed the most. The director of the Institute, Selmir Hadžić, said that this is a very important project for them.

The good news is that children from the area of the municipality Stari Grad that are not residents of the Institute will be able to use this playground too. As the Mayor of the Municipality Stari Grad said, this project was agreed almost two years ago, and its construction should be finalized in a month.

The project costs 30,000 BAM. The Special Olympics BiH also participated in its construction, and their director, Enver Ćosićkić, expressed his satisfaction, saying that this is one of the ways of integration of children with developmental disabilities.

Our best goalkeeper then went to the playground and played football with the cheerful children. He defended, and the children were trying in many ways to outwit Begović and score a goal.
