The Bosnian diamond on 800 meters, Amel Tuka, won the 1st place on the qualifications for the semi-finals on the 800 meters competition at the World Championship, which is held in Beijing.
In the quarter-finals at 800 meters at the World Championships in Beijing, Tuka ran 800 meters with the time 1: 46.12 and thus achieved the placement in semi-finals of this prestigious competition. Most of the race Tuka remained on 5th place, until the last 200 meters when he exploded and went to the first position where he ended up faster than Nijel Amos from his group for more than a second.
The second place went to Nader Belhanbel with a time of 1: 46.23, while Rafith Rodriguez was third with the time of 1: 46.39.
The semi-finals competition is scheduled for the 23rd of August at 2:15 p.m. by the Central European Time, while the finals are scheduled for the 25th of August, starting at 2:55 p.m.
