mesud-pezerThe selection of the best B&H athletes in shot put disciplines traveled to Portutgal, where they will take part in the European Winter Shot Put Cup, which will be held from 15-16 March in Leiria.

In the selection are the shot putters Kemal Mešić and Mesud Pezer, javelin thrower Dejan Mileusnić and shot putter Vanja Spaić.

Hamza Alić will not take part, since he decided with his trainer Mehmed Skender to not compete in the winter season and to focus on the competition in the summer season, primarily for the European Championship, which will take place in August in Zurich.

Most of the chances for high placement goes to Kemal Mešić and Dejan Mileusnić, who won the bronze medal at last year’s competition. They will both compete on Sunday, 16 March, and on the same day Mesud Pezer will be in the competition of younger seniors.

Vanja Spaić will compete on Saturday, 15 March, and her performance in the good conditions and a strong competition will serve to primarily repair the best results and to attempt to obtain a standard for the World Juior Championship, which will be held in July this year.
