“I hope that the donors’ conference aimed to help the Bosnia Herzegovina in reconstruction of the damage caused by floods will be organized in the first ten days of July in Brussels”, said Vjekoslav Bevanda, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers.
The previously mentioned was said the after a meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek. The focus of the meeting was the catastrophic floods and damage caused in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Moreover, Bevanda added that on Wednesday, the presentation of the damage assessment made by the European Commission, the United Nations and the World Bank will be organized.
He emphasized on the fast reactions of this country in the early days of natural disaster and assistance it send, namely sending of helicopters and trained rescuers.
In addition, Bevanda thanked the initiative of Slovenia which was sent to the European Union, all in order for members of the EU to pay attention to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Bratušek emphasized that they will take all measures for the benefit of B&H, adding that Slovenia is a sincere friend of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
“Straight away we organized a campaign to collect aid and financial resources which are still ongoing”, Bratusek emphasized.
In addition, she said that the needs on the field are great and that the focus should be put on reconstruction of damages which require large financial resources.
She pointed out that Slovenia is engaged in organizing a donors’ conference for Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. On the other side Croatia said that they need the international assistance at this time.
“Currently, Slovenia, France and the European Commission took participation on the Donors’ conference, but I hope more states will join us”, concluded Bratušek.
